Just in from Amy Raitto at the Barnstable Department of Natural Resources:
Hi All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Monday July 5th is NOT a shellfishing day for recreational shellfish permit holders. The holiday falls on Sunday July 4th, which is already a shellfishing day.
On a similar note, Friday December 24th is also NOT a shellfishing day for recreational shellfish permit holders. The holiday falls on Saturday December 25th, which is also already a shellfishing day.
When we get closer to the end of the year, I will send another reminder!
I am sure most of you already knew this but, there had been some confusion over this issue, so I just wanted to clarify.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!
Thanks,
Amy Raitto
